Acceptance of terms

By using DialCode.app or the DialCode API, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Service description

DialCode provides two things: a free reference website (country code lookup, scam risk information, dialing guides) and a phone validation API that returns validation, country, line type and risk data including government complaint counts. All information is provided for general reference purposes only.

API terms

• The free tier includes 1,000 lookups per calendar month per account. Quotas reset monthly and unused lookups do not roll over.
• Requests are subject to a rate limit (currently 300 requests per minute per key). Exceeding it returns HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header - honor it.
• One account per person or product. Creating multiple accounts to evade the quota is grounds for revocation.
• We may revoke keys and suspend accounts for abuse: quota evasion, resale of raw data, illegal use, or use against the acceptable-use rules below.
• The free tier carries no SLA. We run the service carefully and publish changes in the changelog, but availability is not guaranteed.

Acceptable use

Do not use DialCode data to harass, stalk or locate individuals. Do not present complaint counts or risk ratings as definitive proof that a specific person or business is committing fraud - a complaint is a report, not a verdict. Do not bulk-rescrape and resell the raw dataset as your own.

Disclaimer

Scam risk ratings, complaint counts and warnings are based on publicly available government data (FTC, FCC, IC3) and general assessments. They are not guarantees. Individual calls from any country code may be legitimate or fraudulent, and a reported number is not proof of wrongdoing by whoever currently holds it. Always exercise caution with unknown callers.

Accuracy

We strive to keep information accurate and up-to-date, but country codes, carrier allocations, regulations and scam patterns change. We make no guarantees about the completeness or accuracy of the information provided.

Limitation of liability

DialCode.app is not liable for any decisions made based on information or API responses provided by the service. Use the information at your own risk.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site or API constitutes acceptance of any changes.
